La banda abrió la ceremonía con "R U Mine?" destacando el ya conocido logo AM en su esenario con una diferencia, esta vez la estructura no estaba rodeada de luces, sino de fuego.
Arctic Monkeys estaban nominados en dos categorías, British Group y British Album of the Year con "AM", ganando ambos premios, esta es la tercera vez que Arctic Monkeys ganan ese reconocimiento en la misma entrega (2007, 2008) y se conviertieron en la primer banda en lograr dicha hazaña.
Cuando recibieron el premio por British Album of the Year, Alex Turner dio un discurso diferente a lo acostumbrado en la ceremonia, muy listo por parte de Alex decir, en una sala llena de artistas pop, que que el Rock 'n' Roll nunca morirá, incluso dijo que podían apagar su micrófono si así lo decidían, haciendo alusión a la vez en que cortaron su discurso por ser grosero con la escuela de los Brits en 2008 después de ganar Best British Group.

I think the cyclical nature of the universe in which it exists demands that it acquiesce to some of its rules.
